My name is Neil Watkin and my work is primarily digital art and photography. I work with a variety of different subject matter, from nature and landscape to portaiture and architecture. I take my inspiration from the past and present, particularly world mythology, pagan and other religious iconography. This love of the gothic and mystical features in many of my ideas. I contributed to the inaugural Manchester Gothic Arts Group (M:GAG) exhibition 'Unmasked', sponsored by the Arts Council, in 2007, and subsequently joined the group. I am currently looking to focus more on studio photography, producing images influenced by Jack Vettriano's Lovers and Other Strangers, but with a gothic twist. Based in Cheshire/Manchester, I am always looking to collaborate on projects or just photograph interesting people. You can see all my work on my personal website, raven art. My work has been sold in shops (such as Broomsticks in Leek, now sadly closed) and regularly exhibited, including at ARA - a club-like event for the gothic/metal/alternative scene in Manchester. If you would be interested in collaborating on a project, please contact me. |
